Test-trenching was carried out over the course of one day at Rineana North, Newmarket-on-Fergus, to raise the levels of land for a waste permit and associated works. A total of seven trenches were enacted across the site. The site is adjacent to a municipal refuse dump which has since been discontinued. The site has been extensively disturbed in the recent past with the dumping of modern building and agricultural refuse. Nothing of an archaeological nature was encountered.
