A programme of monitoring was carried out along the path of the Rathvilly pipeline extension, which forms part of the Carlow districts 1 and 3 water supply scheme.
The pipeline trench, which has a length of 1.6km, was confined to the existing road and was subject to inspection once every 300m. No features, deposits or artefacts of archaeological significance were identified during the course of monitoring.
