It is proposed to construct a housing development on land adjacent to the Chapel Hill Road, Tynan, Co. Armagh. A total of three test-trenches were excavated using a back-actor fitted with a toothless bucket. A number of archaeological features were uncovered in Trenches 1 and 3, including ditches/gullies and pits. Most of the features date from the 17th to 19th century, as indicated by the pottery retrieved from the fills. All of the archaeology was resolved within the proposed footprints of housing.
