It was proposed to build a new house at Rathfylene, Courtnacuddy, Enniscorthy, on a site lying adjacent to WX025–005. The monument represents the site of a bivallate ringfort, of which c. two-thirds of the enclosing bank survives incorporated into the field fence pattern and c. one-third lying closest to the development site had been removed in the past. An assessment to include testing to accompany a planning application was sought by the developer.
Three trenches were excavated in the area extending from the proposed dwelling house to the outbuilding. No finds or features of potential archaeological significance were recorded in the course of the testing.
