Testing was undertaken at Coolgreany Demesne, Coolgreany, as a condition of planning permission for a single-house development. The development site lay partially within the area of constraint for WX003–011, an ecclesiastical site. This refers to the possible site of an Augustinian priory, of which little is known. Indeed its very existence has been questioned by Gwynn and Hadcock (1988, 363–4). Testing failed to uncover anything of archaeological significance within the cuttings opened and subsequent monitoring also revealed nothing of note.
