The final phase of works associated with the renovation of Killua Castle, Clonmellon, was carried out. This was testing in advance of the installation of a geothermal heating system. Three trenches were excavated. No material of archaeological significance was disclosed by the testing. Monitoring of the excavation of two trenches from the geothermal site to the castle disclosed no material of an archaeological nature.
