Monitoring was carried out at the site of a mixed development at John’s Gate, John Street, Waterford, in January 2008. The site is located within the medieval walled town of Waterford (WA009–005). This work was undertaken as additional siteworks after initial work was carried out by Damian Shiels and Gillian McCarthy in April 2006 (Excavations 2006, No. 2014). The foundations of the development were piled and these works were monitored. No surviving masonry was disturbed during this phase and no archaeological finds or features were identified in the pile trenches.
