Alterations to the rear of No. 14 George Street, Waterford, were monitored late in 2007. George Street is part of the medieval walled city, but the site is over 15m from the side of the street, on steeply rising ground. When the recent concrete slab was removed the wall-base of a likely 18th-century building and fragments of internal cobbling were exposed. There was no indication of earlier buildings, but most of the area was obscured by recent material.
