Contract 2 of the Waterford main drainage scheme was situated in Waterford city on the south side of the River Suir. Monitoring of all subsurface works on the scheme was completed in April 2008, on behalf of Waterford City Council. During monitoring the site of a burnt mound associated with two gold bracelets of Late Bronze Age date came to light at Ballymaclode. This was excavated in 2006 by Dave Pollock for Judith Carroll and Co. (Excavations 2006, No. 1968, 06E0990). Nothing further of archaeological interest came to light during the course of the monitoring scheme.
