Test-trenching was carried out ahead of a proposed new school building south-west of the medieval church at Stradbally, Co. Waterford, on behalf of the Church of Ireland Representative Church Body. A pair of shallow but rock-cut ditches is probably part of a post-medieval field boundary. These ditches were exposed again during monitored topsoiling ahead of construction. No medieval or earlier finds were recovered, and no charcoal, scorched soil or burnt bone was seen. The medieval town was probably east of the church.
