Testing and monitoring were carried out in order to meet conditions attached to planning permission for a proposed dwelling with septic tank and percolation area and all associated siteworks at Faha, Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford. The site was located within the zone of archaeological potential of WA024–012. Testing was undertaken directly over the footprint of the proposed building, garden area and septic tank. This comprised an open area topsoil-strip on to the natural unmodified subsoil across two areas. There were no archaeological finds or features identified on this site. Topsoil was relatively shallow across the site and could have been subject to significant erosion.
