Test-trenching works were undertaken from 16 December 2008 to 5 January 2009 at Sedennan, Omagh. The current development proposal provides for the construction of c. 243 dwellings and a residential care facility to include all road infrastructure, landscaping and services. Although the site lies within an archaeologically sensitive area, no archaeological artefacts, deposits or remains were identified during the test-trenching works within the boundaries of the proposed development site in addition to a shallow gravel deposit associated with the railway line, which formerly extended through the proposed development area.
