This site was investigated as part of the proposed corridor improvements of the line of the A4 between Dungannon and Ballygawley where 15km of new road will be constructed. A total of 43 SMR sites lie within 500m of either side of the new road alignments. In general these sites date to the Early Christian period, with many raths, enclosures and a number of ecclesiastical sites represented. However, prehistoric activity, both settlement and ritual, is poorly represented.
Area 24 consisted of one oval pit. No archaeological finds were recovered to suggest a possible use or date.
Area 25 was investigated under the monitoring licence where it was discovered that the spreads identified during the topsoil-stripping were non-archaeological.
Upon investigation it was discovered that the spreads contained within Area 27 were non-archaeological.
Area 28 was excavated under the monitoring licence and comprised two possible pits within an area measuring 30m by 20m. No archaeological finds were recovered to suggest a possible use or date.
