Archaeological mitigation involved the stripping of topsoil to facilitate the creation of a new haul road at the northern end of a sand and gravel quarry. The site lies within an archaeologically sensitive area with five archaeological sites within a 2km radius, ranging from a Neolithic portal tomb (TYR052–023) to a Bronze Age barrow (TYR052–039). Previous monitoring and testing was undertaken in January 2007, where nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered (see No. 1201 above, AE/07/18). Further monitoring took place on 14 April 2008. Again, no archaeological features were uncovered during topsoil-stripping.
