An impact assessment (including test-trenching) was carried out at Nenagh Town Hall in advance of the proposed redevelopment of the site. The site is located within Nenagh town and is 80m to the west of Nenagh Castle. It was proposed to open four trenches across the projected footprint of the development. One of these trenches was abandoned due to the presence of modern services, while another trench could not be excavated at all due to the detection of same. Nothing of an archaeological nature was uncovered in the trenches.
