Permission was granted for an extension to agricultural buildings at Castlemoyle South, Boherlahan. The site is beside TS053–038, a ringfort (rath/cashel). Four test-trenches were machine excavated on 12 February 2008. Four features of archaeological potential were identified during testing; hand-dug sections through these features did not indicate any clear function or date for their creation. For that reason, further monitoring was conducted under an upgrade to the licence. The four features of archaeological potential transpired to be of non-archaeological significance and no further archaeology was identified on the site.
A report on this site is published in the Boherlahan–Dualla Historical Journal 2008: Vol. 11.
