A series of test-trenches were excavated on the footprint of the proposed agricultural development at Cabragh, Thurles, in compliance with the planning conditions, as the site lies at the edge of the constraint zone of TS047–015, a tower-house. No features or finds of an archaeological nature were uncovered in any of the trenches opened.
