The sites for two houses were tested in November 2008. This was south of three sites tested in 2001 (Excavations 2001, Nos 1165–7, 01E0788, 01E0786 and 01E0787). SL014–181 (listed as a ‘barrow, unclassified’) lies to the west of these proposed development sites.
Five east–west trenches were opened to test the two adjacent sites and an alternative access to farmland to the west. These totalled to 234m in length by 2m in width. The soil was undisturbed by man except perhaps for ploughing and the recent stoning of the ground in and around the farm gates. There were no archaeological finds or features.
