Six test-trenches were opened on the imprint of a proposed house at Carricknahorna East, Ballinafad, which is located at the foothills of the Bricklieve Mountains. The site is within the constraint area for a megalithic tomb. The nearest point of the development site to the megalithic tomb was 55m to the west. No archaeological features/remains were uncovered in the course of testing works.
