Testing was undertaken at this site in April 2008. The work was undertaken in compliance with a request for further information issued by the planning authority with respect a proposed residential development. The site of a possible earthwork is situated the central northern area of the site. This is indicated as a tree-planted D-shaped enclosure on the first-edition OS map, while later maps illustrate the eastern and southern boundaries with hachures. There are now no surface traces of this feature, which was removed by quarrying in the 1950s.
A total of 65 trenches of varying lengths and orientations were excavated within the boundaries of the development area. Although nothing of archaeological interest was uncovered, the testing did reveal depths of peat (0.3–2.1) in the southern low-lying area of the site and adjacent a stream.
