Geophysical testing had been carried out in this large field ahead of a proposed development of 24 houses. Findings from this suggested a possible area of archaeological significance, which could be a small burnt mound. Six test-trenches were cut across this sector of the field, but no archaeological explanation could be given for the readings from the geophysical test. Disturbed ground which contained small amounts of metal probably created the anomalous readings from this part of the field.
