The site at Yellowbatter 2, Drogheda, was identified in December 2006 during testing carried out on the route of the northern cross route and foul sewer in Field 19, Trenches 154–155, at Chainage 1650 (Excavations 2007, No. 1181, 06E1126). The remains of a disturbed burnt spread were exposed which was moderately loose in compaction and very thin. No features were exposed below the burnt spread upon excavation, though these may have been truncated by the excavation of the adjacent field ditch and boundary to the north.
