The site is located at the east of Bridge Street and within the limits of the medieval town of Dundalk. It was comprised of an area of cleared ground bounded at the north and south by commercial properties. A new concrete surface and the extant remains of a 20th-century public house occupy the southern portion of the development area (No. 27 Bridge Street). The rear (east) of the property narrows in width as it slopes down to Meeting House Lane. This monitoring phase followed an earlier one that identified potential medieval material (see No. 835 above). A single foundation trench was excavated with a mini-digger; nothing of archaeological significance was found.
