At the request of the Boyne Fisherman Rescue Centre, monitoring was undertaken on the River Boyne foreshore, Drogheda, Co. Louth, on 19 February 2008 in advance of the construction of a concrete boat slipway for the River Boyne rescue boat by Jons Engineering. One foundation trench 16m long, 3m wide and 0.2m in depth was excavated by a 10-tonne tracked machine. No features of archaeological significance were recorded and no artefacts were recovered.
