The proposed development would involve the construction of 29 houses at Commons, Dromiskin. The development would also include landscaping and associated site development works.
The excavation of five test-trenches located throughout the proposed development area failed to reveal any archaeological features or artefacts. On all occasions topsoil directly sealed geologically deposited strata. North–south modern ceramic pipes, related to glasshouses which previously existed on-site, were recorded in four of the five test-trenches. In total, 693m2 of test-trenches were excavated within the 12,160m2 site, giving an approximate 5.7% test-trenching sample of the proposed development area.
