An assessment including testing was carried out prior to the development of a single dwelling, entrance, water treatment unit and associated works at Meanus, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick. The development lay within the zone of archaeological potential of LI031–038, classified as a ‘Settlement Deserted’ in the townlands of Coolfune, Glanaogra and Meanus. Six test-trenches were excavated roughly on the footprint of the proposed new house, associated driveway and effluent treatment area. There were no finds or features of archaeological significance found.
