Limerick County Council proposes to conserve a section of the town defences in Kilmallock, near the public carpark behind King’s Castle. Test excavations were carried out to establish the level at which the inner face of the wall was extant below ground. The excavated material consisted of landscaped material of recent origin and nothing of archaeological significance, other than the wall face, was uncovered.
