A test excavation was undertaken at this site at the rear of four derelict/semi-derelict cottages on Water Street, close to Timahoe round tower. The cottages, which appeared to date to the late 19th century, were to be refurbished as a single dwelling. These were photographed and surveyed and test-trenches were excavated in the garden to the rear. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded.
