Monitoring was carried out as part of the proposed N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford Road Scheme – Waterford to Powerstown (land reclamation) (see No. 733 above, 08E0422). This was undertaken in a number of areas adjacent to the scheme and resulted in the discovery of an isolated feature at Rathduff Lower. The feature measured 2.8m by 1.54m and had a depth of 0.4m. It contained three fills and it is possible this represents a ‘keyhole’ kiln, due to its shape in plan and evidence of in situ burning. No finds were recovered during the excavation.
