This site was located within the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford Scheme, Waterford to Powerstown Phase 4—Knocktopher to Powerstown. The site consisted of a burnt mound situated on the southern bank of King’s River, at the base of a steep slope. The burnt mound covered an area 15m by 6m with a depth that varied between 0.2m and 0.8m and consisted of a black silty clay containing heat-fractured stones. It was heavily disturbed by tree roots and river sediments, deposited as a result of frequent flooding episodes. No finds were recovered and no other archaeological features including possible pits and troughs were identified.
