Kilkenny County Council requested an impact assessment at Kilmacoliver (Tullahought), Piltown, Co. Kilkenny, as further information in advance of a decision on a planning application for an extension to Power’s public house. The proposed development area lay within the area of constraint for KK034–026, church and graveyard. This refers to the medieval parish church of Tullahought, which stood on the site until c. 1830, when it was pulled down and the public house built over it (Carrigan 1905 iv, 325). The widening of the adjoining public road at the same time led to the disturbance of the burial-ground. Testing within the proposed development area failed to uncover anything of significance.
