Monitoring of peat removal to facilitate the construction of an extension to a landfill site was carried out over a number of days. Peat measuring 0.3–0.6m in thickness was removed over an area measuring 250m in length by 150m in width. Natural subsoil was exposed throughout the site and no archaeological finds or features were uncovered.
