Pre-planning targeted test excavations were carried out at a proposed development site at Killeacle, Ardfert, Co. Kerry. The developers intend to construct a sports field and complex at the site. A previous non-invasive impact assessment identified five possible archaeological features from aerial photographs. Testing of the potential archaeological features was carried out in advance of planning. Several modern agricultural drainage features were identified. No archaeological features or artefacts were encountered while carrying out testing at the site.
