Pre-development testing and monitoring were carried out at the former stables at Portumna Demesne, Portumna, Co. Galway. The site is located across the road from the ruins of a priory (GA127–019). Archaeological work on the renovation of the buildings was confined to testing in the area of the proposed septic tank, percolation area and in the area of a proposed drainage channel. Monitoring of excavation of the drainage channel and general pipe laying was also undertaken. No features or artefacts of archaeological significance were uncovered in the course of the testing and monitoring at the site.
