Pre-development testing was undertaken at the proposed site of a dwelling house and associated works, at Kilcooly, Co. Galway. The ruined remains of Kilcooly Castle (GA106–095) and Kilcooly church (GA106–096) are recorded in the vicinity of the development. The walkover survey of the site led to the discovery of a possible fulacht fiadh, located c. 100m north of the proposed dwelling house. Three test-trenches were mechanically excavated revealing no artefacts or features of archaeological significance.
