Testing was carried out in advance of the construction of a two-storey extension to a 19th-century residence known as Ballybroder House, Ballybroder, Loughrea. This proposed development is situated within the zone of archaeological potential for a tower-house (GA106–012) and is adjacent to the zone of archaeological potential for an unclassified earthwork (GA106–014). A total of eight test-trenches were excavated at the development site. A system of post-medieval ditches (possible drainage features) was uncovered during the testing.
