The proposed development is located within the southern extent of the archaeological constraints area of DU014–032, a mound/earthwork in the townland of Dunsink, with the monument itself located c. 30m north of the proposed development footprint. Test-trenching commenced at the site on 21 May 2008 and lasted for two days. This was carried out using a 13-tonne tracked excavator with a flat, toothless bucket. A total of fourteen trenches were mechanically investigated across the test area. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified across the development during the course of testing.
