Monitoring was undertaken in advance of the construction of new Civil Defence Offices to the rear of Ratra House, Phoenix Park, Dublin 8. The footprint of the proposed buildings was fully stripped down to the natural subsoil (topsoil measured 0.45m in depth) and no archaeological features were identified. A number of 20th-century features were identified but not excavated as they were of no archaeological interest.
