Monitoring was carried out in advance of the construction of a carpark at Lord’s Walk, Phoenix Park, Dublin 8. Three of the earthen mounds located to the west of the site were tested in 2007 (Excavations 2007, No. 499, 07E0893). A shallow ditch, possibly representing a plot boundary, was identified during monitoring. A series of modern furrows were also uncovered. It is probable that these relate to the leasing of parts of the Park to Dublin Corporation for use as allotments during World War Two (Nolan 2006, 19). Nothing further of archaeological significance was found.
