Monitoring of excavation works associated with the mini-pile insertion consisted of reducing the existing ground level by 1–1.2m. The ground consisted of an infill deposit of mainly mortar/red brick, slate and wood fragments. Modern inclusions included some glass, plastic and floor tile. There was no evidence for any archaeological features.
