Testing was carried out at Castlepark Road, Dalkey, Co. Dublin, in advance of a proposed residential development on the 30 January and 12 February 2008. The site is located on the grounds of the former Harry Byrne’s Garden Centre and covers an area of 0.58ha.
Three test-trenches were excavated to the natural subsoil level across the site. In addition to the test-trenches, three engineering trial pits were excavated to establish the depth of bedrock below current ground levels. No features of archaeological significance were recorded and no artefacts were recovered.
