The site is in the north of Ballymun, Dublin. Test excavation works were undertaken in January 2008 on behalf of Ballymun Regeneration Ltd. The proposed works comprise the construction of 55 residential units at the location of a demolished high-rise apartment block. Two test-trenches were excavated in the north of the site and the remainder of the site was investigated by fifteen test-pits. The trenches totalled 32.5m and were up to 0.5m deep. The test-pits were excavated at 10m intervals across the site and varied in depth up to 3.25m. The area was heavily disturbed and natural subsoil was not identified throughout the site. No features of potential archaeological interest were identified.
