An archaeological evaluation was carried out at a site c. 30m south of 2 Loughadian Road, Poyntzpass, Co. Down, as part of a planning application for a new dwelling. The application site was situated c. 60m north-east of the site of a 17th-century tower-house (DOW033–034), which has no standing remains. The evaluation consisted of three mechanically excavated test-trenches, 23m, 14m and 11m long by 2m wide. No deposits of archaeological significance were uncovered in the test-trenches.
