Pre-development test excavation was carried out on 14 April 2008 in advance of the construction of a dwelling house within the zone of archaeological potential of a fulacht fiadh at Knockacaregh, Kilmurry. Seven test-trenches were excavated. The stratigraphy consisted of between 0.25m and 0.6m of topsoil overlying a grey/orange gravelly boulder clay. No archaeological features or finds were noted.
