Nine test-trenches were excavated in a Greenfield site located in the townland of Glebe on the north side of Coachford. The south-west corner of the proposed development site lies within the zone of archaeological potential for a Church of Ireland church known as Christ Church and a graveyard and a second Church of Ireland church. Topsoil depths ranged from 0.25m along the western side of the site to 0.4m in the south-eastern corner of the site. The subsoils were a pink sandstone subsoil in the southwestern part of the site and a sandy pale orangebrown soil elsewhere. A number of the test-trenches were excavated within the zone of archaeological potential for the graveyard and church (CO072–006(02, 03)) located to the immediate west of the development site. No archaeological finds or features were noted in any of the test-trenches. A metal detector was used on the spoil from the test-trenches and nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
