An assessment in the form of test-trenching took place between 31 January and 4 February 2008 at Kilgrellane, Co. Cork, in response to the planned installation of a gas pipeline between Midleton and Whitegate. The proposed development is located within the zone of archaeological potential associated with CO076–072, an ancient road. Twenty-four test-trenches were excavated. No areas of archaeological potential were noted during the assessment works.
