Pre-development test excavation was carried out on 23 February 2008 in advance of the construction of a dwelling house within the zone of archaeological potential of a souterrain at Johnstown, Kilmichael. Seven test-trenches were excavated. The stratigraphy consisted of between 0.5m and 0.3m of a grey/brown topsoil overlying a yellow/brown gravelly boulder clay. No archaeological features or finds were noted.
