Monitoring of topsoil-stripping was conducted between 25 and 27 March 2008. The development site lay 150m north-east of a converted 19th-century thrashing mill, within the demesne lands of Hoddersfield, Crosshaven. An area of disturbance was found to represent the demolished remains of a 20th-century agricultural building. This was demolished during the 1950s, according to local information. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.
