Pre-development testing of the proposed development site at Deane Street, Cork city, was requested as a condition of a planning grant. The proposed development site lies close to the zone of archaeological potential for the historic town of Cork (CO074–122). Three test-trenches were excavated across the site. No features or finds of archaeological interest were exposed within the test-trenches.
