Testing was carried out on foot of a condition of planning permission in advance of a housing development. The site was disused pasture but may represent the remains of the grounds of Cleve Hill House. The nearest monument, CO074–063, a souterrain, lay 100m to the south of the site. Seven trenches were excavated and the soil profile was similar in all trenches. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered.
